Plain find is enough for a typo. Whole-word avoids changing “cat” inside “catalog”. Regex is there for patterns — a ticket ID, a date shape, or repeated whitespace — when a literal string is too blunt.
The preview shows what will change so a greedy regex does not surprise you. Scan the highlights, tighten the pattern or switch to whole-word, then run replace all when the hits look right — before you copy anything back.
